Iron Dog Studio have magicked up one of the creepiest slots that I can remember for some time with the Curious Cabinet slot: a Victorian occult themed shocker set in a possessed cabinet of horrors.
There is a x1000 pay-out lurking in this game for those who can hold their nerve.
Victorian Horror-Fest
Iron Dog Studio are known for producing slots that look great and are packed with original ideas and The Curious Cabinet is no exception. The slot action is set in a dark wooden cabinet stuffed with drawers; each one contains a horrid relic to set your nerves jangling.
The reels are set in a Victorian room with heavy curtains, wood panelling and eerie candles. Yikes! The frame of the reels is the wooden cabinet of curiosities, with different drawers making up the different rows and reels.
The background music is equally unnerving, spooky music that will have you sitting on the edge of your seat!
Every symbols in this game has a chilling backstory: a human heart pierced with voodoo pins, a skull with rubies in its eye sockets. And two scary scatters – a sinister doll and a keyhole with a monstrous eye on the other side.
Curious Cabinet Game Play
The Curious Cabinet is a 5 reel, 4 row and 40 pay-line scare-fest which is not one for the feint of heart.
The highest value icons are a jewel-eyed skull, a bottle of poison, a crystal ball, a frog, a human heart with pins stuck in it, and pinned butterflies. I warned you, this is not for those of a delicate disposition!
The game’s Wild is a red rose and this substitutes for all icons except the Scatter and the special cash-generating silver and gold drawers.
Symbols
The Curious Cabinet comes with two special symbols. The first of these is a blood-chilling doll, two icons high, that becomes the game’s Scatter when four or more single pieces land across the reels.
If a doll makes up part of a winning combination it can expand to three reels high to make you more coins. If you manage to land four dolls you get a cash reward. But ooh, she’s spooky!
If Lady Luck smiles on your Victorian adventure and you land fifteen dolls you will trigger a huge 600x your wager win. Who knew that possessed toys could be so profitable?
The second icon that can become a Scatter is a many eyed green monster which appears two icons high, and like the doll, is only the Scatter if you manage to land four or more icons on the reels.
If the monster is part of a winning combination it can expand into a 2×2 sized beast.
Land eighteen on the reels and you’ll win x1000 your stake! Maybe the monster under the bed isn’t so bad after all!
Silver Drawer Feature
There is a special icon, a silver drawer, which in the base game lands on reels 2 and 4.
When it opens it can reveal a cash prize of between 40 and 400 coins, a x2 multiplier card, or a free re-spin with sticky Wilds and a guaranteed win.
But beware, sometimes the drawer is empty and instead a monster’s claw emerges.
Free Spins Feature
If you can land two or more of the special silver drawers you will activate the free spins game which gives you eight free spins.
On each spin a row of gold and silver drawers will appear and on each of the free spins a drawer will open to reveal a prize. As many as three expanding Wilds can land during the free games.
During this feature a special gold drawer can appear-this reveals either a 2000 coin win, a x5 multiplier or…. a horrid creepy hand!
Summary
Iron Dog Studio have outdone themselves in the graphics and originality stakes with this medium variance horror show.
That 5x multiplier lurking in the golden drawer and the 1000x pay-out is not to be sniffed out. It’s a scarily good slot.
