Swipe and Roll
This game was retired by NetEnt back in 2020. I guess it wasn’t that popular! We have kept our review as an archive. Try Twin Spin if you are looking for something similar – this is another retro themed game with a modern game engine.
Archived Review
NetEnt’s Swipe and Roll is just one of those slot games that’s easy to like with distinctly classic looks and a retro feel that is both inviting but also comes with a very modern jackpot and Wilds element.
This is a slot to take you down memory lane and hopefully win a few prizes along the way!
The game is a nod to good old fruities and this one is set in a diner with the reels being set against a familiar scene from Americana. Here among the counters and fruit machine you get your chance to check out Swipe and Roll.
Gameplay
Swipe and Roll is a 20 pay line, 5 reel and 3 row slot that can be played across all devices. So pretty standard fare on that front along with the likes of the Mask slot machine and plenty of other games that we feature here on SlotSites.
20 pay-lines is one of the most frequent NetEnt configurations we see in fact- just have a go on the Coins of Egypt slot if you don’t believe us.
The slot’s styling is on the nostalgic side with the icons of play a classic combo of fruit and playing cards. There are only three high value icons in this game with the big value icon, the classic watermelon which is worth grabbing- five on a pay-line will trigger you a juicy 15x your bet win and then there are oranges and plums too.
The lower value icons of the Ace through Queen of the card deck.
This is a game where the Wild is king- and this game has given us a pair! There’s a big blue diamond and a diamond with a x3 on it. This handy icon only shows up on reels 2, 3 and 4 as opposed to all the reels for the standard Wild.
When the x3 Wild lands it brings a fruity extra to the proceedings in the shape of a x3 multiplier to any wins it makes. Better still, land more than one of these special Wilds and you can add your multipliers together to give yourself an even bigger boost!
All in all, this game stands up well to other NetEnt games like the Lost Relics slot, Dracula and Starburst. It’s a real entertainer.
The game’s Scatter is that slot classic, the bell.

Fruity Base Game
At random, a nifty feature called the Coin Wheel will trigger in dramatic fashion- the whole reel set transforms into one mega reel. The reel will the spin landing you with a cash prize, coin reward, or a Scatter which in turn will deliver you into the bonus feature. Or you’ll see an arrow pointer which expands the area where you can make a win by illuminating part of the reel. This enlarged area helps you make up wins.
Wildly Fruity!
Land three of either Wild onto the reels and you will get a boost in the form of a Sticky Wild for one free spin.
Bells and Whistles
Three of those bell Scatters on the middle three reels will trigger the big kahuna – the Swipe and Roll bonus game.
Here the reels will be full of different amounts- these are your potential coin win or arrow icons. This is where you finally get to do some swiping. Swipe each of three special reels one at a time, either pushing them up or down or “roll” the reels by hitting the spin button.
If you land an arrow and expand the window where you can make wins- your win could be up to 216x your stake.
Summary
Swipe and Roll looks like a simple slot but don’t be fooled. The 3x Wild and the arrows that expand your Win Window in play makes for a game that is more sophisticated that it looks.
This is a game that can go on some nice runs with all that fruity fun!
