King of Olympus Slot Machine
Playtech’s mega-hit slot series the Age of the Gods has a great jewel in its shiny range with the King of Olympus slot (not to be confused with the Prince of Olympus slot) – a game that takes us straight back to the ancients where the Greek gods ruled the roost and we humble humans were just their playthings.
Set your mind’s eye to ancient times when stone temples, mythical beasts and a few vengeful gods roamed the world, including the all powerful King of Olympus! There’s an additional sweetener to this Playtech game with a serious progressive jackpot up for grabs.
Look and Feel
As you’d expect from Playtech, the graphics are crystal clear with movie-quality looks. This game would fit into a Las Vegas casino floor with no problems.
The King of Olympus slot is bright and beautiful: the background of the reels is a heavenly cloudscape at the summit of Mount Olympus, the mythical home of the gods, where Zeus, a.k.a. the “King of Olympus” rules with an iron fist and a bolt of lightning.
The reels are gold-edged, topped with a mighty logo and surrounded by a night sky full of stars, perfectly displaying the icons of play.
And the soundtrack takes us back to another time with an otherworldly and haunting tone to play. It’s atmospheric alright. The overall feel is ‘classy’.

King of Olympus Game Play
King of Olympus is a three-row, five-reel and twenty-five pay line ancient epic with a jackpot that is heaven-sent.
The high-value icons of play are the white-winged horse Pegasus as the highest value icon, followed by the Eagle – the symbol of Zeus, a painted wooden ship, a golden harp of the gods and a Greek red vase.
The low-value icons are Ace through Jack of the card deck done up in colourful Ancient Greek script- it’s themed to a tee.
The game’s Wild is the King of Olympus himself, the crown-wearing, big-haired figure of Zeus. He comes with a super ripped body and it looks like he’s been spending a lot of time down at the gym – I doubt even the fighters in the Luchadora slot could roll him over on a smackdown!
Zeus substitutes for all icons except the game’s Scatter. Bring five of these divine symbols onto an active pay-line and you’ll be treated to a 3,000x your stake reward to add to your stash.
The word “Zeus” inside a giant temple is this slot’s Scatter.
Divine Spins – Bonus
King of Olympus is all about the bonus game (the big progressive jackpot aside), and you can kickstart a generous ten spins by landing three or more Scatters across the reels.
What sets this bonus game apart from the competition is the multipliers that stack up. At first, you’ll enjoy a 2x multiplier, but that increases after every other spin by a factor of one, ending with a maximum of a 6x once you arrive at the end of your free spins count on the 9th and 10th spins.
Better still, Zeus comes over as a generous benefactor during this mode. If he lands on the middle reel, that icon becomes sticky for the whole of the bonus spins- not too shabby as gifts from the gods go.
Compared to other bonus games we have played, this is a cracker. The only downside to all of this fun is that you can’t re-trigger the game when you’re playing in the mode.
Big Jackpot
There are many fans of the Age of the Gods series thanks to its progressive jackpot which is available in each version.
King of Olympus is no exception, with five different levels of jackpots up for grabs.
To be in the running for the progressive jackpot you simply need to play the game. The jackpot game can trigger at random but you are more likely to set it off the higher you bet.
Once you have triggered the Jackpot game, you will enter a new screen where you will see a grid of twenty golden coins. You will see a picking game where you need to reveal three matching icons to win a prize. There are four different prizes to win: the Power, Extra Power, Super Power and Ultimate Power are on the table for you to take home.
This game has a few handy extras such as Auto Play and Turbo Spin (not available in the UK) that are great for players who like to keep the tempo of gameplay high.

Conclusion
Playtech’s Age of the Gods slots are part of a first-class series. The games are packed with a treasure trove of extras. Although King of Olympus doesn’t come with quite as many bells and whistles, it’s still a fine game.
The bonus game is generous, with sticky Wilds and ten free spins, the game looks and sounds top notch and the jackpot is enough to float anyone’s boat. King of Olympus is a worthy competitor to its sister titles in the series. First rate.
